“Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth, give me an undivided heart…” (Psalm 86:11)
A smart woman once wrote, “Find what breaks your heart and then get busy.” What does that statement mean to you? If you believe you were created in God’s image, then when you look in the mirror do you see compassion, love, forgiveness, mercy, service, grace, hope, encouragement, strength, peace, and joy? Throughout the life of Christ, he was drawn to what broke His heart. People who were lame, demon possessed, friendless, outcast, sick, poor, hungry, incarcerated, lost, enslaved, childless, widowed, abandoned.
In our Bibles we read story after story of how Christ busied himself healing what broke his heart and how he taught others to do the same. In this season of your life, this baseball season, why not find a way to heal what breaks your heart? Look deep into the mirror and search for the gifts, talents and tools God has given you to accomplish this task.
My baseball sisters, let’s find what breaks our hearts, what breaks God’s heart and then let’s get busy.
Prayer: Dear Lord, open my eyes to see the heartbreak around me, open my hands so that I will be ready to help, open my ears so that I may listen to the needs of your creation and open my own heart so that I may never be too proud to not let You heal me too. Amen.
