“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
At the end of each season, I already start praying for what God has in store for the next season. I give God full control and do my best to put my faith and trust in Him. As the 2021 season approaches, I’m not sure what you might be praying for this upcoming season, but whether it is a shot at the big leagues, health, a new job, meeting new friends, trying to get pregnant...be still and know that God is walking beside you every step of the way.
His timing is always perfect, and He put all of us in this lifestyle because He knew we could handle it. How special are we that he chose us for a crazy, nomadic lifestyle that draws us closer to Him because He knew we could manage it?! Some days I look back at old photos of Scott and me back in the college baseball days and I'm amazed at how far we've come and how many blessings have come into our lives because of baseball.
It can be hard not to get frustrated or have anxiety when you have been praying for something so long and nothing happens. Sometimes God tells us, "no" and sometimes He tells us, "not yet." At one point, God told me to wait for 2 years as I was praying for something specific, and when the prayer was answered it was better than I could ever imagine.
So as you go into the 2021 season, remember God is on your side through all the ups and downs - because let’s be honest there will be plenty of those. Be on the lookout for those special moments and people God places in your life and soak it in. Pray He reveals those watershed moments to you!
Prayer: God, help me to seek you as the new season approaches. I know through all the chaos you are the one who is constant. When you say no or not now, allow me to be patient and put my trust and faith in you. Thank you for another season to use our platforms to share your love for others. Amen.
