Truth over Comparison

“For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

Thank you for following along this week as we have taken a look at how comparison plays out in our lives, the truth of who we are in Christ, and some ways to fight against the comparison trap and how to build up community. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us “For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.” It's time for us to take that spirit of love, power, and sound judgement and build up strong relationships with the women in our lives.

When you fall into the comparison trap, speak truth over your life. I love to put sticky notes on my mirror with different truths from scripture, it helps me stay centered and focused. Call a friend who will speak truth to you and remind you who you are - a child of God. Tune into some worship music that points you back to Jesus.

We have to make a choice - we can either keep pace or keep peace. My prayer is that we will each choose to keep peace in our hearts and relationships by reminding ourselves to look through the lens of of truth when we're faced with lies, and standing firm in a mindset of gratitude rather than getting sucked into comparison.
