Trust the Lord, Now

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.” (Psalm 46:1-3)

What a great word picture. No matter what is going on in the world, we have a God who is our refuge and strength, our help in our troubles. When our world is going through hard time, we need to react in a way that points people to Jesus turning Fear into Trust! Notice how Peter tells us we should act in difficult times. “Do not fear what they fear or be intimidated, but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:14-15).

Those who do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior have much to fear these days. They do not have any hope in this world. We should use the opportunity we have to tell others why we do not fear! We have Jesus in our heart, and we need to be ready to tell others the reason we have hope. People are fearful today. They need to see the hope of Jesus in us.

Remembering God’s promise that He is with us, can help us live in the hope we have in Him and give us the courage to go through hard times. “The Commander of the heavenly armies is here among us! He, the God of Jacob, has come to rescue us! (Psalm 46:11).

God is our refuge and strength, we must not fear we must trust our Mighty God and show the world around us that we have a hope that we carry with us through these difficult days.

Question: Do those around you see the hope of Jesus in the way your react to difficult times? Are you ready to explain this hope to others?

Challenge: Read through Psalm 46 and pray for strength to praise Jesus today.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for loving and caring for me. Thank you for the HOPE we have in You! Help me turn my Fear into trust!
