Let God’s Word Enrich You

“Remember what Christ taught, and let his words enrich your lives and make you wise; teach them to each other and sing them out in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing to the Lord with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, and come with him into the presence of God the Father to give him your thanks.” (Colossians 3:16-17)

These verses tell us to ‘remember what Jesus taught and let His Words enrich your life.” The definition of enrich is “to make rich or richer especially by the addition or increase of some desirable quality, attribute, or ingredient that will make your life better.” That is what the Bible will do for you, enrich your life. This will happen as you spend time each day reading and studying the Bible

“The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone” (Timothy 3:16-17).

The result of “remembering what Christ taught” and letting “His Word enrich you” is that we are equipped to do good to everyone. We are to be representative of the Lord Jesus in “all we do and say.” This requires us to know how Jesus would think and act—we find that in the Bible. As we spend time in the Bible, we learn more about how to live as Jesus wants us to live. It prepares us to represent Jesus. Let God’s Word enrich your life each day.

Question: How much time do you spend in God’s Word each day? How prepared are you to represent Jesus today?

Challenge: Enrich your life today, spend time with Jesus in His Word. Do it every day!

Prayer: Jesus, thanks your Word, use it to enrich my life today. Help to represent you by all I do and say. Thank you for allowing me this honor. Use me today!
