Be Fill with Hope

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” (Romans 15:13)

This past year has certainly been full of problems and unrest. A pandemic, riots, a contentious election have all caused many to despair and wonder what could possibly come next. Even many Christ followers have lost hope. But we have a great God who is still in control of all things. The verse above tells us that God is a God of hope and He wants to fill us with His joy and peace.

We are to abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Look what Paul tells us in the following verses: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand;do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:4-7).

Think about what these verses are saying. Always rejoice, no matter what. Do not worry instead replace worry with prayer. Then the peace of God will give you hope. All this comes through the power of the Holy Spirit which allows us to abound in hope and joy. Plug into the power

Question: No matter what is happening right now, are you filled with joy? Have you replaced worry with prayer? Have you plugged into the power of the Holy Spirit?

Challenge: Take time this week to read, meditate on, and memorize Philippians 4:4-7.

Prayer: Thank You Lord for the hope, joy and peace that is available to me right now. Help me to look beyond my circumstances and see You. Help me to plug into Your power.
