“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness." (Colossians 1:7)

Thanksgiving is a time to acknowledge all the things we're thankful for. It's a wonderful occasion where we are supposed to stop and think about all the blessings in our lives.

But, this should NOT be the only time we give thanks. Numerous times in the Bible we are told to ALWAYS give thanks to our Lord! No matter what happens, no matter the situation, we are to give thanks in ALL things.

We all know how easy it is to say thank you Lord for our home, our clothes, our food, our families - the things we have - but what about the things that we struggle with or don’t have? Can we say thank you Lord for:

This injury?

This job search?

This illness?

This in-law?

This crossroad?

This trial?

In Philippians 4:6 It says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and THANK him for all he has done!” Our God is so awesome, and He does so much for us, can you believe He tells us to ask for anything??? Let’s not forget our part and thank Him for all He has done for us, and all He is going to do for us. Even in the tough times He still deserves our praises!

Prayer: Loving Father in Heaven, I am so thankful that you sent your son to die for my sins. Let me never take that sacrifice for granted. I pray that every word that flows from my mouth be pure thanksgiving and NOT grumbling. You are worthy of praise. Thank you Lord for everything! I have and am nothing without you!

Suggested Reading: Psalm 50:12; Ephesians 5:4
